Salmonella sp. (A, B, C1, C2, D, E1 & E2 Groups)

The core antigen bears the O antigen and is attached to lipid A. These three components together form the lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a major component of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. The LPS is an endotoxin and induces a strong immune response from the host. Its mutation or removal results in the death of the bacterial cell and as such is a prime target for antimicrobial drugs. \n\nSalmonella enterica,causes typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever and foodborne illnesses. \n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Dot Blot and Immunofluorescence.
