SAR1B (SAR1 homolog B (S. cerevisiae), ANDD, CMRD, GTBPB, GTP-binding protein Sara, SARA2, SARB, SAR1a gene homolog 2)

SAR1B is involved in transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus. Activated by the guanine nucleotide exchange factor PREB. Involved in the selection of the protein cargo and the assembly of the COPII coat complex.\n\nDefects in SAR1B are the cause of chylomicron retention disease (CMRD) [MIM:246700]; also known as Anderson disease (ANDD). CMRD is an autosomal recessive disorder of severe fat malabsorption associated with failure to thrive in infancy. The condition is characterized by deficiency of fat-soluble vitamins, low blood cholesterol levels, and a selective absence of chylomicrons from blood. Affected individuals accumulate chylomicron-like particles in membrane-bound compartments of enterocytes, which contain large cytosolic lipid droplets.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nELISA: 1:8000\nWestern Blot: 0.03-0.1ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nMouse Liver and Rat Liver lysates\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 monthsat -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
