A potent and selective inhibitor of the TGF-b1 receptor ALK5 (IC50 = 94nM). It inhibits ALK4 only at higher concentrations (IC50 = 140nM). Suppresses renewal in embryonic and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells and promotes their differentiation through its effect on Smad signaling pathway. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with DMSO or ethanol. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Light-sensitive.
