Spinophilin (Neurabin-II)

Spinophilin/Neurabin-II has been found to be enriched at the postsynaptic density fraction in the brain and in the adherens junction fraction in rat liver. Within the brain, Spinophilin/Neurabin-II is localized in the heads of dendritic spines. Spinophilin/Neurabin-II contains a single PDZ domain in the middle region of the protein and other domains that predict it will form a coiled-coil structure at the C-terminus. Spinophilin/Neurabin-II is known to complex with the catalytic subunit of protein phosphatase I (PP1) and in vitro is a potent modulator of PP1 enzymatic activity. Spinophilin/Neurabin-II is also known to interact with F-actin and rat lin-10.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nWestern Blot: 0.25-1ug/ml detects Spinophilin in 20ug of a rat brain microsomal preparation. \nImmunoprecipitation: 4ug immunoprecipitates Spinophilin from 500ug of rat brain microsomal preparation.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nRecommended Secondary Antibodies:\nI1904-39: IgG, X-Adsorbed (HRP) Pab Gt x Rb\nI1904-40A: IgG, H&L, X-Adsorbed (HRP) Pab Gt x Rb\nI1904-46Q: IgG, H&L (HRP) Pab Gt x Rb\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Recognizes rat spinophilin at ~120kD. Also recognizes a band at ~95kD which is suspected to be a cleavage product of spinophilin.
