Potent inhibitor of yeast NAD+-dependent histone deacetylase Sir2p (IC50 = 60uM). Sensitizes mammalian cells to a variety of DNA-damaging agents by abrogating Sir2p activity on p53. Acts by either altering ot blocking access to the acetylated histone binding pocket.

Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with DMSO. Aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
