Two highly related, but distinct STAT5 genes (STAT5a and STAT5b) were identified in mice. The aa sequences of Stat5a and Stat5b show approximately 96% sequence similarity, and both proteins are co-expressed in most tissues of both virgin and lactating mice. However, differential accumulation of STAT5a and STAT5b in mRNA has been reported for both muscle and mammary tissue. STAT5 has been shown to be the essential mediator of prolactin induced milk protein gene activation. This antibody detects Stat5 a/b. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 2-4ug/ml for 2hrs at RT Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: A431 cells. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
