Chemokine SDF-1 is highly conserved among species and belongs to a large family of small, structurally related cytokines. It is a chemoattractant for T lymphocytes, monocytes, and hemopoietic stem cells and is constitutively expressed in bone marrow-derived stromal cells. Recent reports indicate that SDF-1 is the ligand for LESTR/fusin and prevents infection by T-cell-line-adapted HIV-1. SDF-1a and SDF-1b, are generated by alternative RNA splicing of transcripts encoded by a single gene. SDF-1a differs from SDF-1b by four C-terminal amino acid residues absent in SDF-1a. As yet, no functional differences have been reported. Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1a (SDF1a) is a recently discovered protein belonging to the a-chemokine (C-X-C) family of cytokines. Human SDF1a is an 8kD protein containing 68 amino acid residues.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. \n\nRecommended Dilution: \nELISA Direct ELISA:0.15-0.30ug/ml using 100ul /well antibody solution will detection at least 0.2 ng/well of recombinant hSDF-1-alpha.\nWestern Blot: 0.1-0.2 ug/ml. The detection limit for recombinant hSDF-1-alpha is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.\nOptimal dilution determined by the researcher. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. \n\nCountry of Origin: USA
