TBX21 (T-box Transcription Factor TBX21, T-box Protein 21, T-cell-specific T-box Transcription Factor T-bet, Transcription Factor TBLYM, TBET, TBLYM)

T-box transcription factors contain a novel type of DNA-binding domain, the T-box domain, which are encoded by an ancient gene family. Four T-box genes, omb, Trg, org-1, and H15, have been identified in Drosophila, whereas in mammals the T-box gene family has expanded, and 12 human T-box genes have been isolated. Most T-box genes have discrete spatial and temporal patterns of expression during embryogenesis. T-box 21 (TBX21) is the human ortholog of mouse Tbx21/Tbet gene and studies in mice have shown that Tbx21 is a Th1 cell-specific transcription factor that controls the expression of the hallmark Th1 cytokine, interferon-gamma (IFNG). Expression of human TBX21 also correlates with IFNG expression in Th1 and natural killer cells, suggesting a role for TBX21 in initiating Th1 lineage development from naive Th precursor cells.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:100-1:1000\nImmunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 1:100\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
