The T Cell Receptor alpha/beta (TCR) is expressed on T lymphocytes of all mouse strains tested. Plate-bound or soluble antibody activates a/b TCR-bearing T cells. In vitro and in vivo, the antibody can induce immature thymocytes to undergo apoptosis. In vivo administration of this antibody has been shown to deplete a/b TCR-bearing cells to near completion and prevent graft rejection.\n\nFusion Partners: Spleen cells from immunized BALB/c mice were fused with cells of the X63.Ag8.653 mouse myeloma cell line.\n\nRecommended Negative Controls: Mouse IgG1 Negative Control: RPE\n\nApplications:\nFlow Cytometry: Neat\nOptimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher.\n\nFlow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 10e6 cells in 100ul.

Detects a T cell specific molecule consisting of two disulphide-linked subunits of 40 and 46kD molecular weight respectively on 97% of peripheral rat T cells as defined by the OX-52 marker. 3H2910 is mitogenic for unseparated spleen cells and for purified T cells. In the rat thymus, mature medullary cells express the 3H2910 determinant at the same level as peripheral T cells, whereas 94% of CD4-CD8-thymocytes are 3H2910 negative. It is most likely directed at a constant determinant of the rat a/b heterodimeric T cell antigen receptor. Species Crossreactivity: Clone is reported to crossreact with Cynomolgus monkey (5).
