Thioredoxin Reductase 2 (Thioredoxin Reductase 2, Mitochondrial, Selenoprotein Z, SelZ, TR-beta, Thioredoxin Reductase TR3, TXNRD2, KIAA1652, TRXR2)

Thioredoxin Reductase 2 is a 56kD, ubiquitously expressed, mitochondrial selenoprotein and member of the class-I pyridine nucleotide-disulfide oxidoreductase family of proteins. Human TRXR2 is synthesized as a 524aa precursor that contains a 36aa transit peptide and a 488aa mature chain. A selenocysteine residue at position 523 is essential for enzymatic activity. Alternate splicing produces four isoforms. Human TRXR2 shares 86-85aa identity with mouse and rat TRXR2, respectively. TRXR2 maintains thioredoxin in a reduced state and is implicated in the defense against oxidative stress. It may also play a role in redox-regulated cell signaling.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 0.1ug/ml\nImmunohistochemistry: 8-25ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
