Total RNA arrays, also called dot blots, are made from the same high quality total RNA used with our Northern Blots. The total RNA arrays are ready-to-use, and are the most economical tools for rapid detection of gene expression in a wide variety of tissues. Tissue Total RNA arrays are manufactured using high quality total RNAs from documented tissues. The tissues are excised, immediately frozen, and then pathologically identified. Total RNA isolation is performed with proprietary techniques. The purified total RNAs are inspected for the presence of high molecular weight mRNAs and the absence of genomic DNA. The total RNA from each tissue is spotted on a modified nylon membrane. Each spot contains an average of 5ug of total RNA. Hybridization of a representative array with a probe against 18s ribosomal RNA ensures the quality of each lot.
