TRAIL-R2 (DR5; CD262) is a receptor for the cytotoxic ligand TRAIL. The adapter molecule FADD recruits caspase-8 to the activated receptor. The resulting death-inducing signaling complex (DISC) performs caspase-8 proteolytic activation which initiates the subsequent cascade of caspases (aspartate-specific cysteine proteases) mediating apoptosis. Promotes the activation of NF-kappaB.
Biological Activity:
Blocks human or mouse TRAIL activity in a concentration of 1-10ug/ml.
Sequence:
The extracellular domain of human TRAIL-R2 (aa 52-212) is fused to the Fc portion of human IgG1.
Storage and Stability:
Short-term Storage: +4 degrees C
Long-term Storage: -20 degrees C
Stable for at least 6 months after receipt when stored at -20 degrees C.
