TRAIL, a 32.5kD Type II transmembrane cytokine, is a unique member of TNF super family. It has a major role in antitumor immunosurveillance, mediates thymocyte apoptosis and is important in the induction of autoimmune diseases. It interacts with its receptors including DR4, DR5, TRID:DcR1:TRAILR3, DcR2:TRAILR4 and OPG and induces apoptosis by activating MAPK8:JNK signaling in a Caspase-dependent and independent pathways. Due to its significance as a potent inducer of apoptosis in transformed and tumor cells, TRAIL may be useful in cancer therapy. Northern Blot analysis detected a ubiquitous expression of TRAIL although it doesn
