Transforming growth factor bs (TGFbs) mediate many cell-cell interactions that occur during embryonic development. Three TGFbs have been identified in mammals. TGFb1, TGFb2 (M.W 48kD) and TGFb3 are each synthesized as precursor proteins that are very similar in that each is cleaved to yield a 112aa polypeptide that remains associated with the latent portion of the molecule. This antibody reacts with the precursor and mature form of TGFb2 and to a lesser extent TGFb3, but does not cross react with TGFb1.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry: 1:50 for 10min at RT
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissues sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10min followed by cooling at RT for 20min
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:
Small intestine
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
