TRBP is an RNA associated nuclear protein. It contains 3 DRBM (double stranded RNA-binding) domains and plays an important role by binding to HIV-1 TAR RNA located in the long terminal repeat (LTR). TRBP acts synergistic with viral TAT protein in HIV-1 expression activation. It binds preferentially to TAR and other double-stranded RNAs with G+C-rich characteristics. It is important in regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter and is widely expressed in most of the tissues. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 5-8ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 5-10ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human brain lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
