The sarcoplasmic reticulum of striated muscle is a specialized intracellular membrane system that plays a critical role in the contraction and relaxation of muscle. The sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ ATPases (SERCAs) mediate Ca2+ uptake into intracellular stores. SERCA mediated Ca2+ uptake induces and maintains muscular relaxation. SERCA1 is expressed in fast-twitch muscles, whereas SERCA2 is expressed in cardiac and slow-twitch muscles. SERCA2 plays an important part in regulating cardiac contractile function. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluroescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 0.5ug Immunofluorescence: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: ARPE-19 cell lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
