Cardiac Troponin I is phosphorylated in vivo and it can also be phosphorylated in vitro by cAMP-dependent protein kinase A. Sites of phosphorylation are the serines in the 22nd and 23rd position (Jaquet K et al). ab10225 recognizes the epitopes containing these two amino acid residues.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 3 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Reacts with free cardiac troponin I (cTnI) and cTnI forming complexes with other troponin components (in the presence of 5 mM EDTA). Not affected by heparin, phosphorylation, oxidation and troponin complex formation. Recognizes dephospho- and phospho- forms of human cardiac Troponin I. Does not crossreact with skeletal muscle troponin I. Species Crossreactivity: Crossreacts with Human, Rat, Cat, canine, porcine and Rabbit. Does not crossreact with Mouse, bovine, Fish or Goat.
