Tubulin, beta 3 (Tubulin beta III, TUBB 3, TUBB3, Neuron Specific beta III Tubulin, beta-4, MC1R, Tubulin beta 4, TUBB 4)

Beta III tubulin is abundant in the central and peripheral nervous systems (CNS and PNS) where it is prominently expressed during fetal and postnatal development. As exemplified in cerebellar and sympathoadrenal neurogenesis, the distribution of beta III is neuron-associated, exhibiting distinct temporospatial gradients according to the regional neuroepithelia of origin. However, transient expression of this protein is also present in the subventricular zones of the CNS comprising putative neuronal- and/or glial precursor cells, as well as in Kulchitsky neuroendocrine cells of the fetal respiratory epithelium. This temporally restricted, potentially non-neuronal expression may have implications in the identification of presumptive neurons derived from embryonic stem cells. In adult tissues, the distribution of beta III is almost exclusively neuron-specific.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed frozen or paraffin embedded tissue sections, Immunocytochemistry (fixed cells), Immunoprecipitation and ELISA. Other applications not tested. \n\nRecommended Dilution: \nImmunohistochemistry: High temperature citrate buffer antigen retrieval is recommended with paraffin embedded tissue sections.\nWestern Blot: Detects a single band at 50kD corresponding to Class III beta-tubulin.\nOptimal dilution determined by the researcher. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
