Tubulin beta is a 50kD globular protein and major constituent of microtubules within the cytoskeleton, involved in meiosis, mitosis, intracellular transport and maintaining cell shape. The evolutionarily conserved heterodimer tubulin, made up of a tubulin alpha and beta chain, binds two molecules of GTP, one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha chain and one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain. Only the beta chain possesses GTPase activity however, hydrolysing GTP to GDP, and influencing the stability of the dimer within the microtubule. T9155-01Q is reported to partially inhibit microtubule assembly in vitro (2). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry (frozen), and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
