The tubulin family includes five distinct tubulins; alpha, beta, gamma, delta and epsilon. Gamma-tubulin has a role in the nucleation and polar orientation of microtubules and is found at the microtubule organizing centers such as the spindle poles or the centrosome. The antigen sequence is found in both human gamma-tubulin 1 and gamma-tubulin 2.
