Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha (TNFa) (FITC)

Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) is a pleiotrophic pro-inflammatory cytokine secreted by various cells including adipocytes, activated monocytes, macrophages, B cells, T cells and fibroblasts. It belongs to the TNF superfamily of ligands and signals through two receptors, TNFR1 and TNFR2. TNF-alpha is cytotoxic to a wide variety of tumor cells and is an essential factor in mediating the immune response against bacterial infections. TNF-alpha also plays a role in the induction of septic shock, autoimmune diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation and diabetes.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nFlow Cytometry: 1:2. Use 10ul to label 5x10e5 cells in 50ul. Requires cell membrane permeabilization. \nOptimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher.\n\nHybridoma:\nSpleen cells from immunized BALB/c mice were fused with cells of the mouse X63 Ag8.653 myeloma cell line.\n\nRecommended Negative Controls: \nI1904-78R3: IgG1 Murine Negative Control (FITC)\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
