Tyrosine hydroxylase in involved in the conversion of phenylalanine to dopamine. It is the rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of catecholamines and as such has a key role in the physiology of adrenergic neurons. TH is encoded by four distinct mRNAs produced by alternative splicing of a single primary transcript. Expression of the mRNAs varies in different parts of the nervous system. Defects in TH are the cause of autosomal recessive Segawa syndrome. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 1:1000 Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded): 1:100 Immunohistochemistry: Frozen Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
