Uncoupling Protein 3 (UCP3)

Human UCP3 long form (UCP3L) is a 312aa mitochondrial uncoupling protein. It is only 57% and 73% homologous with human UCP1 and UCP2 respectively. Like other UCPs, UCP3 is predicted to contain 6 transmembrane domains. The UCP3S lacks the 6th transmembrane domain and is only 275aa long. UCP3 have preferential expression in muscle and it is unaffected by cold acclimation.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nWestern Blot: 1-10ug/ml (ECL).\nELISA: 1:10,000-1:100,000 using 50-100ng control peptide/well.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add glycerol (40-50%) and aliquot. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
