USP2, also known as UBP41 is a deubiquitinating protease which rescues proteins from the ubiquitin mediated 26S proteasomal pathway. The USP2 gene encodes two splice variants- USP2a and USP2b, with molecular weights of 69kD and 48kD respectively. \n\nUSP2a deubiquitinates the antiapoptotic proteins fatty acid synthase (FAS) and Mdm2. FAS is overexpressed in the majority of epithelial tumors, including prostate cancer, whilst Mdm2 indicates that USP2 may regulate p53-dependent pathways.\n\nSource:\nRecombinant corresponding to aa2-605 from human USP2, fused to FLAG-tag at N-terminal, expressedin Sf9 insect cells via a baculovirus expression system.\n\nMolecular Weight:\n~68kD\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for for the study of enzyme kinetics, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nAliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
