VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor, Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A, VEGFA, VEGF-A, MGC70609, MVCD1, Vascular Permeability Factor, VPF)

Growth factor active in angiogenesis, vasculogenesis and endothelial cell growth. Induces endothelial cell proliferation, promotes cell migration, inhibits apoptosis and induces permeabilization of blood vessels. Binds to the FLT1/VEGFR1 and KDR/VEGFR2 receptors, heparan sulfate and heparin. NRP1/Neuropilin-1 binds isoforms VEGF-165 and VEGF-145. Isoform VEGF165B binds to KDR but does not activate downstream signaling pathways, does not activate angiogenesis and inhibits tumor growth.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Neutralization. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: In a sandwich ELISA (assuming 100ul/well), a concentration of 2-4ug/ml of this antibody will detect at least 100pg/ml of recombinant human VEGF165 when used with biotinylated antigen affinity purified anti-human VEGF165 as the detection antibody at a concentration of approximately 0.25-1ug/ml.\nWestern Blot: To detect hVEGF165 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.25-0.5ug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hVEGF165 is 0.25-0.5ng/lane, under non-reducing conditions.\nNeutralization: To yield one-half maximal inhibition of the biological activity of Human VEGF (10ng/ml), a concentration of 0.2ug/ml of this antibody is required.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
