VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor, Vascular Permeability Factor, VEGFA, VPF)

Cat no: V2110-13

VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor, Vascular Permeability Factor, VEGFA, VPF)

VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) is a homodimeric, disulfide-linked glycoprotein involved in angiogenesis which promotes tumor progression and metastasis. It exhibits potent mitogenic and permeablility inducing properties specific for the vascular endothelium. Multiple isoforms of VEGF containing 206-, 189-, 165-, and 121-amino acid residues have been described which arise from alternative splicing of a single gene. The smaller two isoforms, VEGF165 and VEGF121, are secreted proteins and act as diffusible agents, whereas the larger two remain cell-associated. VEGF/VPF plays an important role in angiogenesis, which promotes tumor progression and metastasis.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Neutralization of the bioactivity of human VEGF. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nNeutralization: Azide removal is required prior to use.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nAngiosarcoma\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
