VGLUT2 (Vesicular Glutamate Transporter 2, Differentiation-associated BNPI, Differentiation-associated Na(+)-dependent Inorganic Phosphate Cotransporter, Solute Carrier Family 17 Member 6, Slc17a6, Dnpi)

Vesicular Glutamate Transporter 2 (VGLUT2) is a sodium dependent inorganic phosphate cotransporter that is involved in the calcium dependent glutamate release from astrocytes. It is expressed in only a subset of neurons, localized to synaptic vesicles, at synapses exhibiting classical excitatory features. VGLUT2 mRNA is found in brain regions that lack VGLUT1, a related protein also displaying sodium dependent inorganic phosphate cotransporter activity.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:500\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:300\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nBrain tissue\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
