Wnt2b is a signalling factor which acts as a ligand for members of the frizzled family of seven transmembrane receptors. It is thought to play a key role during mammalian early embryogenesis, and may also function as a stem cell factor for neural and retinal progenitor cells.
The Wnt2b gene encodes two alternative transcript variants; Wnt2B splicing variant 1 encodes secreted-type glycoprotein (Wnt2B isoform 1), while Wnt2B splicing variant 2 encodes a transmembrane-type glycoprotein (Wnt2B isoform 2).
Wnt2b has been implicated in gastric cancer, esophageal cancer and skin basal cell carcinoma.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry (paraffin). Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 5-10ug/ml
Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment for 20 minutes prior to staining of paraffin sections. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
