Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome Candidate 2 Protein (WHSC2) Recombinant, Human

Cat no: W0485

Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome Candidate 2 Protein (WHSC2) Recombinant, Human

The gene encoding this protein is expressed ubiquitously with higher levels in fetal than in adult tissues. It encodes a protein sharing 93% sequence identity with the mouse protein. Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome (WHS) is a malformation syndrome associated with a hemizygous deletion of the distal short arm of chromosome 4. The gene encoding this protein is mapped to the 165kb WHS critical region, and may play a role in the phenotype of the WHS or Pitt-Rogers-Danks syndrome. This protein is found to be capable of reacting with HLA-A2-restricted and tumor-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes, suggesting a target for use in specific immunotherapy for a large number of cancer patients. This protein has also been shown to be a member of the NELF (negative elongation factor) protein complex that participates in the regulation of RNA polymerase II transcription elongation. \n\nRecombinant full-length (525aa) human Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome Candidate 2 Protein variant NELFA (NP_005654.1) with T7 tag at the N terminus\n\nApplications: Suitable for use in ELISA as an Antigen, Ligand, or Assay Standard. Tested in MassSspectrometry. Other applications not tested.\n\nStorage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. \n\nImportant note: This recombinant enzyme has NOT been tested with regard to biological activity.
