XPA (Xeroderma pigmentosum Group A) (BSA & Azide Free)

The XPA (Xeroderma Pigmentosum Group A) Protein specifically recognizes the UV or chemically damaged DNA lesions, triggering the nucleotide excision repair process. XPA binds to the Replication Protein A (RPA) or the Excision Repair Cross Complementing 1 Protein (ERCC1). In the absence of nucleotide excision repair persisting (unrepaired), DNA lesions \n(adducts) may lead to the accumulation of gene mutations and ultimately to cancer. Xeroderma Pigmentosum patients have a > 2000 fold increased risk to develop skin cancer at sun-exposed areas.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution: \nWestern Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2hrs at RT\nImmunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): 2-4ug/ml for 30 minute at RT. Note: Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nLs174T or MCF-7 cells or human tonsil. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at-20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at-20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
