The Ku autoantigen is a heterodimer of 70kDa (p70) and ~80kDa (p80) proteins. The p70/p80 dimer is important for function of a 460kDa DNAdependent protein kinase that phosphorylates certain transcription factors, including Sp1, Oct-1, p53, and SV40 large T antigen in vitro. Ku protein plays a role in cell signaling, proliferation, DNA repair, replication, transcriptional activation, and apoptosis.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: BT474, HEP-G-2 or HeLa cells. Tonsil tissue sections.\n\nCellular Localization: Nuclear\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 3 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
