ZFP281 (Zinc Finger Protein 281, GC-box-binding Zinc Finger Protein 1, Transcription Factor ZBP-99, Zinc Finger DNA-binding Protein 99, GZP1, ZBP99, FLJ12859, FLJ14378)

ZFP281, also known as ZBP-99, is a member of a conserved family of transcription factors that interact with GC-rich promoters. It contains four Kruppel-like zinc fingers and is highly homologous to ZBP-89, another regulator of ornithine decarboxylase gene expression. ZFP281 also interacts with many other other transcription factors, such as Sp1 to repress vimentin gene transcription. ZFP281 has also been shown to control embryonic stem cell pluripotency by direct regulating specific target genes. ZFP281 phyically interacts with the transcription factos POU5F1, Sox2, and NANOG. Gene expression microarray anlysis indicated that some ZFP281 target genes were activated, while others were repressed upon knockdown of ZFP281 expression, showing that ZFP281 plays bifuctinal roles in regulating gene expression in stem cells.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 0.25-0.5ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nA-20 Cell Lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
