ZEB1 inhibits interleukin-2 (IL-2) gene expression. May be responsible for transcriptional repression of the IL-2 gene. Enhances or represses the promoter activity of the ATP1A1 gene depending on the quantity of cDNA and on the cell type. Defects in ZEB1 are the cause of posterior polymorphous corneal dystrophy type 3 (PPCD3) [MIM:609141]. Posterior polymorphous corneal dystrophy (PPCD) is a rare disease involving metaplasia and overgrowth of corneal endothelial cells. In patients with PPCD, these cells manifest in an epithelial morphology and gene expression pattern, produce an aberrant basement membrane, and, sometimes, spread over the iris and nearby structures in a way that increases the risk for glaucoma.
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Diltuinos:
ELISA: 1:32,000
Western Blot: 0.05-0.2ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control:
Human Heart and Mouse Heart lysates
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 monthsat -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Peptide Blocking:
Corresponding peptide is available for Peptide Blocking studies. See Z0469-75A-P. Antibody
