CBS (Cystathionine beta-synthase, Serine Sulfhydrase, Beta-thionase)

CBS acts as a homotetramer to catalyze the conversion of homocysteine to cystathionine, the first step in the transsulfuration pathway. This protein is allosterically activated by adenosyl-methionine and uses pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor. Defects in this gene can cause cystathionine beta-synthase deficiency (CBSD), which can lead to homocystinuria.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 3ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nAA Sequence:\nMPSETPQAEVGPTGCPHRSGPHSAKGSLEKGSPEDKEAKEPLWIRPDAPSRCTWQLGRPASESPHHHTAPAKSPKILPDILKKIGDTPMVRINKIGKKFG\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
