The CD41 cell surface antigen is a 140kD glycoprotein expressed by platelets and megakaryocytes. CD41 is also known as platelet glycoprotein IIb, and functions as a receptor for fibrinogen, fibronectin and vWF.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Not suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nFlow Cytometry: 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nHybridoma: \nSp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recognizes human CD41. Not established if this antibody recognizes free human CD41 or human CD41 only when complexed with CD61. Antibody binding is reduced in the presence of EDTA suggesting that the epitope recognized is dependent upon an intact CD41/61 complex. Species Crossreactivity: baboon, mink and mustelid.
