Description

This transmembrane protein (type I), originally called leukocyte common antigen, is present on differentiated hematopoietic cells (except erythrocytes and platelets) and highly expressed in hairy cell leukemia, lymphomas, B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and acute nonlymphocytic leukemia.

CD45 positive cell distribution in human tissue may be used for fast detection of various malignancies.
