The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. This protein is a catalytic subunit of the highly conserved protein kinase complex known as M-phase promoting factor (MPF), which is essential for G1/S and G2/M phase transitions of eukaryotic cell cycle. Mitotic cyclins stably associate with this protein and function as regulatory subunits. The kinase activity of this protein is controlled by cyclin accumulation and destruction through the cell cycle. The phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of this protein also play important regulatory roles in cell cycle control. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:500-1:1000\nELISA: 1ug/ml-3ng/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nHybridoma: \nSp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C with glycerol. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Do not freeze APC conjugates. Light sensitive.
