COP9 Signalosome Subunit 5, NT (COPS5, Jun Activation Domain-binding Protein 1, JAB1, MGC3149, MOV-34, SGN5)

The Jun activating protein (JAB1) interacts with the activation domain of c-Jun. Claret and co-workers were the first to identify JAB 1 and show that it specifically stabilizes complexes of c-Jun or Jun D with AP-1 sites, increasing the specificity of target gene activation. The COP9 signalosome subunit 5 (CSN5) was identified in Arabidopsis and is homologous to JAB1. JAB 1 has been shown to interact with a variety of proteins forming multi-protein complexes that are important in ubiquitin-dependent protein degradation pathways. Some of the numerous signaling pathways JAB 1 is implicated in include the regulation of light mediated development in plants, larval development in Drosophila, integrin signaling, steroid hormone signaling, and cell cycle control through its effect on the regulators p27/KIP1 and MIF1. JAB1 is an ~ 40kD soluble protein that is highly conserved between the Plant and Animal kingdoms\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipiation. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1-3ug/ml\nImmunoprecipitation: 1-3ug/IP reaction\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
