P120 catenin (p120) is a component of adherent junctions and has been implicated in regulating cadherin-based cell adhesion as well as the activity of Rho small GTPases. P120 promotes lateral clustering of cadherins and regulates cadherin stability and turnover at the cell membrane. P120 also promote cell surface trafficking of cadherins through its ability to complex with kinesin and move vesicles along microtubules. p120 is identified as a tyrosine kinase substrate that is phosphorylated in Src transformed cells or in response to growth factor stimulation. Multiple tyrosine residues (Y96, Y112, Y228, Y280, Y258, Y291, Y296, and Y302) in p120 Catenin are phosphorylated by Src. These phosphorylations may facilitate interaction with PTP1C/SHP-1 in response to EGF stimulation. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
