CTRP3 (complement C1q TNF-related protein 3) is a glycoprotein secreted by adipocytes and leukocytes that has important roles in morphogenesis, metabolism, and cell function. It is induced during chondrogenic differentiation, contributing to bone and cartilage differentiation and angiogenesis via ERK1/2 signaling and has been shown to suppress hepatic glucose output via inhibition of gluconeogenesis and to lower blood glucose levels in both normal and ob/ob mice. Cayman's CTRP3 (human) EIA Kit is a competitive assay which can be used to measure CTRP3 in human serum, plasma, or cell culture supernatants. The assay exhibits a detection limit of 10 ng/ml and an assay range of 7.8-1,000 ng/ml.
