Cytokeratin 3, K2P (Keratin K3/K76)

Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins and are characterized by a remarkable biochemical diversity, represented in epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They range in molecular weight between 40kD and 68kD and isoelectric pH between 4.9-7.8. The individual cytokeratin polypeptides are designated 1 to 20. The cytokeratins are expressed in combinations which characterize the type of epithelium.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Recognizes the 64kD polypeptide (cytokeratin 3) of rabbit corneal epithelium and keratin K76 (cytokeratin K2p) of palate epithelium. As such represents an excellent marker for studying corneal epithelial-type differentiation. Also recognizes bovine snout and lip epithelium, as well as a rabbit corneal cell line. \nSpecies Crossreactivity: human, bovine and mouse.
