DAP Kinase 2 (DAK2, DAP Kinase Related Protein 1, DAPK2, Death Associated Protein Kinase 2)

Apoptosis is mediated by death domain containing adapter molecules and a caspase family of proteases. Certain serine/threonine protein kinases, such as RIP and DAP kinase, are mediators of apoptosis. DAP kinase (DAPK) is pro-apoptotic calcium-regulated serine/threonine kinase containing death domain. Ectopic expression of DAPK induces cell death and suppresses oncogenic transformation. DAPK mediates IFNg induced apoptosis. A novel DAP kinase-related protein was recently identi?ed and designated DAPK2 and DRP-1 (1, 2). Ectopicly expressed DAPK2 induced apoptosis in various types of cells(1,2). DAPK has high sequence homology to ZIP kinase and DRAK1/2, and they represent a novel family of serine/threonine kinases, which mediates apoptosis through their catalytic activities. The messenger RNA of DAPK2 is expressed in multiple human tissues (1).\n\nApplications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml; Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. \n\nPositive Control: A431 whole cell lysate\n\nStorage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
