DDX6 (DDX-6, DEAD-box protein 6, DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp))

This gene encodes a member of the DEAD box protein family. The protein is an RNA helicase found in P-bodies and stress granules, and functions in translation suppression and mRNA degradation. It is required for microRNA-induced gene silencing.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. \n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nPeptide ELISA Titer: 1:16,000\nWestern Blot: 0.1-0.3ug/ml ~ 50kD band observed in lysates of cell line Jurkat (calculated MW of 53.2kD according to NP_NP_004388.1). In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing Human DDX6 a band of approx. 55kD is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. The endogenous 53kD protein is observed in both.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. \n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
