Description:
DNase Test Agar with Toluidine Blue is a complete medium since toluidine blue is incorporated in the formulation. A positive reaction is indicated by a rose-pink zone surrounding the colony in a dark blue background. In general, Gram positive microorganisms are inhibited. This medium is particularly useful for determining DNase activity of the Enterobacteriaceae.
Storage:
Store the sealed bottle containing the dehydrated medium at 2-8 degrees C. Once opened and recapped, place the container in a low humidity environment at the same storage temperature. Protect it from moisture and light. The dehydrated medium should be discarded if it is not free flowing or if the color has changed from the original light beige color.
