DNA fragmentation factor subunit B (dffb) is a nuclease involved in degrading naked DNA during apoptosis, inducing apoptotic morphology. It was formerly known as caspase-activated Dnase. However, there is little published scientific literature currently available for zebrafish dffb. In humans, dffb is also known as DNA fragmentation factor 40 (DFF-40). Human dffb is capable of triggering DNA fragmentation and chromatin condensation during apoptosis. Additionally, one study demonstrated expression of dffb in human cell lines correlated with DNA fragmentation during apoptosis, and overexpression potentiated DNA fragmentation by apoptotic stimuli. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:5000-1:20,000 Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Control Peptide: D3224-25Z Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
