Dicer

Dicer functions is a RNase III-like enzyme which cleaves double-stranded RNA into 21-23 nt RNAs (siRNA short interfering RNA). It is required by the RNA interference and small temporal RNA (stRNA) pathways to produce the active small RNA component that represses gene expression. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:500-1:1000. Detects ~217kD band\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: Whole ovary tissue lysate\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes mouse Dicer. Species sequence homology: human and rat due to over 90% sequence with immunogen, but testing shows no response in human and rat ovary at the recommended testing conditions.
