BioAssay(TM) 1kb Ladder is supplied in gel loading buffer at a total DNA concentration of 0.1ug/ul. Six different plasmids containing pUC, gamma phage and yeast genome sequences were completely digested by the appropriate restriction endonucleases, phenol extracted, ethanol precipitated. The digests were then mixed and dissolved in 10mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.6, 10mM EDTA.
The marker yields the following 14 discrete fragments (in base pairs): 10000, 8000, 6000, 5000, 4000, 3500, 3000, 2500, 2000, 1500, 1000, 750, 500, 250. The bright bands at 6000, 3000, 1000 bp serves as a reference.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
