HDJ 2 is a novel human homolog of E. coli's DNA J protein from heat shock protein 40 family. Hsp 40 is involved in chaperonic protein folding. HDJ-2 is cytoplasmic and nuclear membrane associated protein; upon heat shock it migrates and becomes associated with the golgi complex, nucleous and nuclear membrane. HDJ 2 has a prenylated C-terminus and is not inducible upon heat shock. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasm (ground state). Golgi complex, nucleolus and nuclear membrane (upon heat shock). Positive Control: MAD109 and Raji cells. Tonsil tissue sections. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry (paraffin-embedded sections). Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional info: This antibody is highly specific to HDJ 2 and shows no crossreaction with HDJ 1. It associates with a 53kDa protein of unknown identity. Species Crossreactivity: Crossreacts with Human, E. coli, Hamster, Monkey, Mouse, porcine, Rabbit and Rat. Not yet tested in other species.
