DnaJ (HSP40, HDJ 2)

HDJ 2 is a novel human homolog of E. coli's DNA J protein from heat shock protein 40 family. Hsp 40 is involved in chaperonic protein folding. HDJ-2 is cytoplasmic and nuclear membrane associated protein; upon heat shock it migrates and becomes associated with the golgi complex, nucleous and nuclear membrane. HDJ 2 has a prenylated C-terminus and is not inducible upon heat shock.\n\nCellular Localization: Cytoplasm (ground state). Golgi complex, nucleolus and nuclear membrane (upon heat shock).\n\nPositive Control: MAD109 and Raji cells. Tonsil tissue sections.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry (paraffin-embedded sections). Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional Info

This antibody is highly specific to HDJ 2 and shows no crossreaction with HDJ 1. It associates with a 53kDa protein of unknown identity. Species Crossreactivity: Crossreacts with Human, E. coli, Hamster, Monkey, Mouse, porcine, Rabbit and Rat. Not yet tested in other species.
