Activated form of factor V and the cofactor of Xa. Factor Va is a component of the prothrombinase complex which contributes to the increased conversion rate of prothrombin to thrombin. Source: Factor Va, from human plasma Specific Activity: ~1000u/mg Unit Definition: 1u= Factor V activity in 1ml normal human plasma Molecular Weight: ~94kD (heavy chain), ~74kD (light chain) Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
