Fatty Acid Binding Protein 9, testis (FABP9, PERF, PERF15, Testis lipid-binding protein, T-FABP, TLBP)

FABP9 (fatty acid binding protein-9; also T-FABP and PERF15) is a cytosolic 15kD member of the fatty acid binding protein family, calycin superfamily of proteins. It is found in midpachytene spermatocytes and round spermatids, and constitutes part of the perinuclear theca. Functionally, FABP9 is likely to link intracellular membranes, and may signal abnormal sperm formation during \nspermatogenesis. Human FABP9 is 132 amino acids (aa) in length and exhibits two layers of antiparallel b-strands that envelope a hydrophobic pocket for lipid binding. Human FABP9 shares 71% aa identity with mouse FABP9. \n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Direct ELISA. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nELISA (direct): 0.5-1ug/ml. Detection limit for rhFABP9 is ~0.5ng/well. \nWestern Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml. Detection limit for rhFABP9 is ~5ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions. \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, PBS. Aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
